mile end station in tunnel on network offers cross-platform interchange between tube (central line) , sub-surface (district , hammersmith & city line) trains. station takes name a11 mile end road, named after milestone signifying point 1 mile (1.6 km) east of boundary of city of london. however, stone s position closer stepney green mile end station itself, further east, on junction burdett road.

the station undergoing renovation works. metronet, company in public–private partnership transport london (tfl), got far stripping station bare before company collapsed in 2008. after short changeover period, tfl continued renovation work.
