at time of 1922 census of palestine conducted british mandate, fassuta had population of 459, 444 christians , 15 muslims, while in 1931 census, combined population of fassuta , mansura 507 palestinian christians , 81 muslims, living in total of 129 houses.


by 1945 fassuta had 1,050 inhabitants. combined population of fassuta, al-mansura , dayr al-qasi 2,300, , total land area 34,011 dunums. 1,607 dunams plantations , irrigable land, 6,475 used cereals, while 247 dunams built-up (urban) land.


at end of october 1948 village captured israeli army during operation hiram. of muslim population fled or expelled many of christians remained. in december 1949 idf put forward plan expel remaining population of fassuta , 5 other villages in order create 5–10 km arab-free zone along lebanon border. plan blocked foreign ministry feared international reaction. arab population remained under martial law until 1966.


between 1922 , 1947, population of fassuta increased 120%.
