throughout 2000s, lane continued tour ratdog, playing hometown shows alphabet soup whenever had break in schedule. in 2000, ratdog released own debut album, evening moods, followed live @ roseland in 2001. in 2001, lane appeared once more alongside claypool , huth, plus others, on colonel les claypool s fearless flying frog brigade albums live frogs set 1 , live frogs set 2, latter of complete performance of pink floyd s animals. in 2002, lane guested on frog brigade s studio album, purple onion, , named drummer of year california music awards.
