dates handled

what type of dates , times filesystem can support, may include:


creation date

this date file “created” on volume. not change when working file, e.g. opening, closing, saving, or modifying file.


access date

this date file last accessed. access can move, open, or other simple access. can tripped anti-virus scanners, or windows system processes. therefore, caution has used when stating “file last accessed user xxx” if there “file access” date in ntfs work from.


modified date

this date shown windows there has been change file itself. e.g. if notepad document has more data added it, trip date modified.


changed date

the date , time related attributes modified. may include acls , file/directory name.


backed-up date

the date , time when file last backed up.
