playing career

in high school, zaugg played northland pines high school varsity boys hockey team. on team won back-to-back lumberjack conference championships junior , senior, 3rd or 4th liner.

wisconsin badgers

over four-year career @ wisconsin, zaugg won 2 national championships, , scored 133 career points. in addition, named 2007 frozen 4 all-tournament team, , honored team captain in 2008. in first year @ wisconsin, zaugg managed score 12 goals on 15 percent shooting. 24 goals in 2005, established herself major threat on championship-bound badgers team. in junior year, put 29-goal season — 20 of came in conference play. doubled conference scoring output year before (12 goals). 8 of zaugg s team-leading 29 goals game-winners, earning reputation clutch player. when wisconsin won second national championship in 2006, zaugg notched 2 of 3 goals in game , garnered all-tournament honors.

zaugg member of silver medal winning u.s. women s national team 2007 international ice hockey federation world women s championship. two-time member of u.s. women s select team 4 nations cup (she competed in 2006 , in 2007). during time, member of u.s. women s under-22 select team. in 2006, 2007 , 2009, usa hockey women s national festival participant (2006–07, 2009). on march 25, 2011, officially announced retirement u.s. women’s national program.

2010 olympic team

six of teammates on team players played @ wisconsin. teammates include hilary knight, meghan duggan, jessie vetter, erika lawler, molly engstrom, , kerry weiland.
january 5: in exhibition game against wisconsin women s hockey team, zaugg netted goal , had assist team usa won score of 9–0.
