little remains of derry s railroading boom, although might notice unused railroad right-of-way extends derry westward pa route 981, running north parallel currently-used railroad tracks. ill-fated project known derry-donohoe-jeannette (ddj) bypass, in pennsylvania railroad attempted build new main line avoid curves , slopes of existing main line, bypassing latrobe , greensburg. construction of bypass began in 1920s, including large trestle near bradenville, new route never completed.
