political career

in stage of reformasi movement in malaysia, fuziah salleh 1 of leaders of islamic ngo, jamaah islah malaysia (widely known jim) , bath group joined national justice party (malay: parti keadilan nasional) established on 4 april 1999. national justice party later merged older malaysian people s party (malay: parti rakyat malaysia) establish people s justice party (malay: parti keadilan rakyat) on 3 august 2003.

malaysian general election results

fuziah salleh ran unsuccessfully malaysian parliament twice, before winning parliament seat of kuantan in 12th general election of malaysia. on 8 march 2008, fuziah defeated incumbent malaysian chinese association (mca) heavyweight datuk fu ah kiow, incumbent deputy internal security minister.


in 13th general election, mca loaned kuantan parliamentary seat united malays national organisation (umno), capitalise on increase in malay voters made 63 per cent of kuantan s on 55,000 voters. kuatan seat loan perceived tactical move barisan nasional (bn) counter chinese community still against controversial lynas rare earth plant in kuantan. despite facing stiff competition umno, on 5 may 2013, pkr vice-president fuziah salleh not retained kuantan seat second term increased majority of 4,515 votes, after defeating datuk mohamed suffian awang. datuk mohamed suffian awang kuantan umno youth chief , political secretary bn chairman , prime minister of malaysia, datuk seri mohammad najib abdul razak.
