a kashimashi light novel, written mako komao , illustrated yukimaru katsura, published mediaworks under dengeki bunko imprint on january 10, 2006. novel told first person perspective alternating between hazumu, yasuna, , tomari between chapters. there prologue, 4 chapters, , epilogue in novel; prologue , first chapter told hazumu s perspective, yasuna s chapter two, followed tomari s chapter three, , hazumu chapter 4 , epilogue. last 3 pages of book contain afterword written author.

a 112-page artbook entitled kashimashi official fan book (かしまし公式ファンブック, kashimashi kōshiki fan bukku) released mediaworks on march 27, 2006. book, same size manga bound volume, printed in full-color first forty-eight pages consists of compilation of promotional art separate media types, character profiles original sketches , comments on characters, plus interviews voice actors of hazumu, yasuna, tomari, ayuki, , jan pu, , lastly original concept drawings of school uniforms in series. middle of book, printed in black-and-white, contains brief overview of first twenty-one chapters of manga, , interviews manga author , illustrator, anime director , scenario writer, , light novel author. there brief explanation of playstation 2 visual novel, of 2 figurines of hazumu, , of 3 audio cds anime version. last sixteen pages again in full-color , consist of anime s first episode in manga format.

the anime series of kashimashi produced studio hibari , directed nobuaki nakanishi. series aired on tv tokyo in japan january 11 march 29, 2006, ending twelve regular episodes. episodes released on 7 dvd compilations released between april 26 , october 27, 2006, each containing 2 episodes. original video animation (ova) episode released final dvd changed ending original television broadcast. there small additional portion during bra shopping scene in episode 2 considered adult enough censored out of television broadcast, included in dvd release. bandai visual released dvd box set of kashimashi in japan on june 25, 2010.

the anime series licensed media blasters in november 2006. episodes not dubbed english, still included subtitles in english. first dvd went on sale on june 12, 2007 , contained first 5 episodes. extras on disc included 2 ten-minute talks between voice actresses 3 main female characters, small collection of japanese television advertisements, , textless opening videos. second dvd went on sale on august 21, 2007, , third , final dvd went on sale on october 23, 2007; last 2 dvds contain 4 episodes each, including ova episode. box-set containing 3 dvds released on october 14, 2008. first episode of series included june 2007 issue of newtype usa. re-release titled kashimashi: girl meet girl vocal collection released on april 26, 2011 english dub.

the anime opening theme, koisuru kokoro eufonius, , main ending theme, michishirube yūmao, both released on january 25, 2006 in japan lantis. anime used 4 alternate versions of ending theme sung 4 of voice actors. in episode eight, sung masumi asano, in episode 9 kana ueda hazumu, in episode ten yui horie yasuna, , in episode eleven yukari tamura tomari. opening theme koisuru kokoro used ending theme first episode while song kimi no tame ni dekiru koto (キミのためにできること, lit. can ) yūmao used ending theme in twelfth episode.

the game s story begins on outset of summer vacation. hazumu s homeroom teacher namiko tsuki suggests hazumu , friends take one-week trip small mountain village hot spring resort. hazumu s grandparents reside in town, , 2 new characters introduced story. 3 other female characters introduced possible love interests hazumu; 2 same age her, , third older landlady of resort. goal of game pair hazumu 1 of 5 female cast of characters. gameplay s main system comes hazumu s indecisive personality. if player shows more interest in particular character, other characters annoyed hazumu ignoring them, displayed in tension meter. more hazumu ignores particular character, higher tension between character becomes. ensures hazumu stays friends possible love interests. in order view ending of particular character, amount of tension have between other characters, cannot great or ending not show.
