2015–2016 season
on 19 august 2015, cabella returned france, signing ligue 1 side marseille on season-long loan part of deal saw florian thauvin transfer newcastle. made club debut on 23 august 2015, starting in 6–0 ligue 1 home victory on troyes. on 3 december 2015, cabella scored first goal marseille in 1–0 win on rennes in ligue 1 match before scoring 1 goal again 3 days later in 2–2 draw montpellier in ligue 1 match.
although cabella s loan spell @ marseille had ended, spent pre-season french club, appearing in friendly matches. on 11 august 2016, newcastle announced cabella s loan switch marseille had become permanent ahead of 2016-2017 season.
2016–2017 season
on 1 march 2017, cabella scored 2 goals level score twice (to 2-2 , 3-3) in 4-3 extra-time home loss monaco in 2016–17 coupe de france round of 16 match.

on 31 august 2017, cabella joined saint-Étienne on season-long loan deal.he scored in first minute of debut in 1-1 draw @ home angers.
