like many neo-grotesque designs, helvetica has narrow apertures, limit legibility onscreen , @ small print sizes. has no visible difference between upper-case , lower-case l , although number 1 quite identifiable flag @ top left. tight, display-oriented spacing may pose problems legibility. in situations matters, other designs intended legibility @ small sizes above all, such verdana, meta or trebuchet or monospace font such courier, makes letters quite wide, may more appropriate.
